Proceed east down the south side of Main St.
Site is the current location of The Crown and Turtle Pub.
At one time, Kay Balsden and her mother Mrs. Allan Brown ran a confectionary and ice cream store in this building. The Brown's sold the store to Lyle Stokes, who sold it to Charlie and Ruth Garrod in 1948. The Garrods greatly enlarged the grocery store into a full scale supermarket.
The grocery store would change hands several times before John Skinner and his wife Blanche purchased the building in 1962, and later added a restaurant. Doug and Elaine McNair purchased the building in 1973, and remodelled it into a full restaurant in 1978.
As a restaurant, the building saw many owners before being bought by Christina McGrath and Adam Lawrence in 2016. It was then converted into the Crown and Turtle Pub, which remains today.
As a restaurant, the building would also see many owners. Starting with Bill and Sarah Richardson, who converted it into Richardson's Restaurant in 1980. In 1985, they sold the building to Jerry and Bonnie Riffel.
The building was sold by the Riffels to Sharon Tripp in 2012, who in turn sold it to Christina McGrath and Adam Lawrence.
