Helping Our Community

The Scout Law tells us that "A Scout is Helpful". A Scout volunteers to help others without expecting a reward.

Pack 99 is involved in a number of worthwhile and fun community service projects throughout the year.

Our Scouts learn how to give back and the value of hard work by performing yard cleanup at a several sites...

  • Fall leaf clean-up and spring mulching and flower planting at the Bradley Gardens Elementary learning garden.
  • Leaf clean-up at the American Legion.
  • Bocce court clean-up at the Bridgewater Senior Center.

Scouting for Food

Each November our Pack, along with hundreds of other Packs and Troops throughout the country, participate in the Scouting for Food program. The effort takes place over two consecutive weekends. The first weekend our Scouts distribute flyers and/or bags to each house in our area (Bradley Gardens and Milltown are BIG neighborhoods). The following weekend our Scouts pick up the bags with donated food and other items from each house. Each year we collect several hundred bags. We then transport them to the Somerset County Food Bank.
