Yong Niu 

Yong Niu (niuyong@bjtu.edu.cn) received B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University, China in 2011, and his Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2016. He is currently an Associate Professor with the State Key Laboratory of Rail Traffic Control and Safety, Beijing Jiaotong University. During November 2014 to April 2015, he visited University of Florida, FL, USA as a Visiting Scholar. During October 2018 to October 2019,  he visited University of Helsinki as a Visiting Scholar.


His research interests are in the areas of networking and communications, including millimeter wave communications, device-to-device communication, medium access control, and High-Speed Railway  Communications. He has published 59 academic research papers in his research area. He received the Ph.D. National Scholarship of China in 2015, Outstanding Ph. D Graduates and Outstanding Doctoral thesis of Tsinghua University in 2016, and the Outstanding Doctorate Dissertation Award from the Chinese Institute of Electronics in 2017. He was the recipient of the 2018 International Union of Radio Science Young Scientist Award and Second prize of science and technology award of Chinese Institute of Electronics (Natural Science). He was also appreciated as IEEE Communications Letters Exemplary Reviewers in 2018. He has served as Technical Program Committee (TPC) member for some top conferences like ICC, Globecom, and WCNC. He has also served as reviewers for many top journals in his research area like IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Transactions on Communications, and IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing.

He is an IEEE Senior Member.
