Due to rapid urbanization, the enduring demand for energy, resources and water consumption significantly impacts the global environment. Among all the industrial sectors, construction industry is considered as the most resource intensive sector and emits major portion of GHG emissions. It is also widely accepted that construction sector is the main contributor to sustainable development because it focusses on social advancement, encourage environmental protection and economic growth. Sustainable development is referred as a triple bottom line approach committed towards economic, environmental and social objectives. To design the product for our specific needs using Reduce, Reuse and Replace (3R) it is important to consider the embodied energy of the materials to reduce carbon foot print. The asymptotic growth in urbanization affects the socio-economic indicators, which in turn, imbalances the sustainable ecosystem. With the growth in building and infrastructure facilities, the demand for materials and resources enhance leading to disturbance in the environment and destabilization in sustainability. The challenge before the construction sector lies in providing building materials with reduced environmental burden, improved social benefit, shall be economically feasible and technologically viable to achieve the UN sustainable goals.

The present conference addresses issues related to sustainable construction, materials and technologies. This will be a leading forum where scholars, faculty from engineering colleges and civil engineering practitioners exchange innovations of low energy cement technologies, new materials and systems, and innovative material/structural technologies towards cost-effective, durable, environment-friendly, energy efficiency and sustainability. The development of innovative and non-conventional materials and technologies will also provide a significant role in eradication of poverty, creation of jobs, formation of global partnership for economic progress and social stability. This well-timed event is put together for attendees to get acquainted with new materials and construction technologies to incorporate cutting-edge and economically viable, sustainable solutions, thereby increasing profitability, decreasing construction time and overall impact on the built environment

The meeting brings together a wealth of recent research on the subject. During the conference extensive deliberations on various areas are expected by way of technical presentations, invited and key note lectures.


Original and innovative abstracts not exceeding 500 words are invited from Academicians, Researchers, Practicing Engineers, Industry Experts and Consultants for submission to the Two day National Conference on Advances in Sustainable Construction Materials (ASCM). Abstracts shall be submitted by E-mail to (Note: Please include name of the author, affiliation, email id, address and contact number). Acceptance of the Abstracts and information for submitting full length papers will be intimated The submitted full length manuscripts be sent to a double blinded peer review committee before accepting the final versions. Selected peer reviewed papers will be published as a Springer nature Singapore Pte Ltd book proceedings.


National Institute of Technology, Warangal (NITW) formerly known as RECW is the first among thirty one NITs set up in 1959. Over the years, the Institute has established itself as a premier Institution in imparting technical education of a very high standard, leading to B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc., M.B.A., M.C.A. and Ph.D. programs in various specializations of Science and Engineering streams. Warangal is known for its rich historical and cultural heritage. It is situated at a distance of 140 km from Hyderabad. Warangal is well connected by rail and road. National Institute of Technology, Warangal campus is 3 km away from Kazipet railway station and 12 km away from Warangal railway station.

The Department of Civil Engineering offers B.Tech, 7 M.Tech and PhD Programs in Civil Engineering, The Department is a recognized QIP centre since 1978. The Department has well established and well equipped laboratories. The Department has experienced faculty engaged in teaching, research, capacity building activities and industry extension services. Faculty members represent several policy making and professional bodies. The Department has liaison with reputed industries and R&D organizations.
