Nishtha Kochhar

I am an Economist with the Poverty and Equity Global Practice at the World Bank currently working on India, and have previously contributed to the Poverty and Equity GP's analytical agenda in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from Georgetown University. 

My primary research fields are Applied Microeconomics and Development Economics. My research uses theoretical framework to inform empirical work in studying topics on poverty and inequality, labor markets, gender and ethnic inequality, political and economic institutions, social norms, and marriage markets.
