About Region V Soccer
Region V oversees three soccer leagues, with club teams competing to earn a bid to the Regional Tournament in late October. In addition to each team's league matches, clubs have the opportunity to play non-league games to count towards power rankings as a way to earn an at-large bid to the Regional Tournament. Tournament structure varies each year, depending on host site and date availability.
The Region V Tournament distributes bids to the top performers in the Men's and Women's Division for the Championship Division of the National Tournament hosted by NIRSA.
We utilize this website to track standings and report league scores across the region.
Rocky Mountain Collegiate Soccer League (RMCSL)The RMCSL consists of teams in Colorado and Wyoming. The Men's and Women's League each have an 'A' and a 'B' division, which determine eligibility for regional and national championship participation.
Great Plains Soccer Conference (GPSC)The GPSC consists of teams in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota. Only a Men's Division is represented for regional and national championship participation.
Midwest Collegiate Soccer League (MWCSL)The MWCSL consists of teams in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and North Dakota. The Men's and Women's League are each currently independent schedulers, and are eligible for regional and national championship participation.
2020 NIRSA National Soccer Championships postponed
After serious consideration, it is with much regret that the 2020 NIRSA National Soccer Championships has been cancelled due to the continuing concerns with the COVID-19 virus and the number of the soccer sport clubs that will be unable to travel in the fall. NIRSA Championship Series leadership, NIRSA HQ, and the NIRSA Services Corporation Board have been monitoring the precautions from NIRSA member institutions and health organizations regarding travel and social distancing. Given current information, Series leadership was compelled to cancel for the safety and wellbeing of our participants, volunteers, and staff involved with the tournament.
The NIRSA Services Corporation and NIRSA Championship Series are committed to bringing a premier experience to our participants and stakeholders. While some may be dismayed with this decision, the priority of the health and wellbeing of the players, tournament staff, and host communities who participate in and support the NIRSA Championship Series cannot be ignored. Champ Series leaders thank you all for your continued support of the Championship Series.
The soccer work team will monitor the travel restrictions of soccer sport clubs to determine if a spring national tournament might be possible. Look for an announcement in early January 2021 regarding format and date for a possible spring event.
For engagement of players, members and officials in the fall, the team will be offering some virtual opportunities such as: skills challenge, strategy clinics, Esports tournament, and student officials training.
