Welcome to my Webpage!

I am currently a Postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Tokyo. My current research focuses on understanding the effect of social security allowances (conditional and unconditional cash transfers) on household welfare and human capital outcomes. I am also an Associate Professor in Economics at Tribhuvan University. Following my passion for academia, I joined Tribhuvan University as an Assistant Professor and completed my MA and Ph.D. in Development Economics from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies in Tokyo. My area of specialty is Development and Behavioural Economics. I am currently researching behavioural aspects affecting investment in clean energy vehicles using randomized controlled trials. Also, I am working on areas relating to the Economics of Tobacco Harm Reduction (THR) products in Nepal where I use Discrete Choice Experiments (DCE) to elicit consumer preferences for THR products. I have previously worked on the socio-economic effects of Nepal's earthquake and its recovery in post-earthquake Nepal.  I am further interested in program evaluation using standard micro econometric techniques and cost-benefit Analysis; and local financing issues including fiscal federalism. I also work on migration issues facing developing economies
