poubellier If the app uses Play Services to provide functionality, then yes. If the app merely requires Play Services to be present and doesn't care/use them beyond that, you might get away with revoking the network permission from play services.

The recommended and supported setup for Sandboxed Google Play is all three apps (GSF, Play Services, Play Store) installed, all 3 need at least network permission and play services should have unrestricted battery.

So I have made new emulator in my AVD. I picked Nexus 5X (with Play Store support). After that I picked Jelly Bean 16 api level (with Google APIs). When I opened my app dialog pop up with message You need to update your Google play services. When I clicked on Update button, nothing happened. I did update everything necessary in SDK manager, but nothing worked. I didn't have installed Google Play Store on my emulator, even tho I picked Nexus 5X which comes with preinstalled Play Store. So I couldn't find Google Play Store tab in Extended Controls (tree dots next to my emulator).

Edit:Make sure that you use emulator with playstore is installed. Check if you have sdk manager -> sdk platforms -> Android 8 -> Google Play ... system image installed. Download it. Create new emulator using that image.

I was able to install Google Play and Google Services as separate apks to pure system image api 16 and 17, but they don't really work after that (services crush and play not opens). So seems like it is not possible to make them work on pure AVD image because they should be installed with root access. The same for updating Google Services on AVD system image with Google API preinstalled - can't update because of incompatible certificates, can't uninstall even using adb because don't have access.

I came across another solution to use the Google play services on an emulator. The guys at provide very fast emulators on which you can install Google play services. They just need you to sign up to begin downloading and you need Virtual box installed. At the moment they cater for Android 16 and 17 but more are on the way.

The bottom of the screen is a reserved touch zone for system navigation. A line is displayed in the center to show that the navigation bar is present across the entire bottom of the screen. In most apps, this area will display padding. Modern apps are able to tell the OS that they can handle not having the padding to display app content there while still not being able to receive touches from it. Open up the Settings app for an example.

GrapheneOS does not yet include a text-to-speech (TTS) service in the base OS due to limitations of the available options. Including one is planned in the future when a suitable option is available. RHVoice and eSpeak NG are both open source and are the most common choices by GrapheneOS users. Both of these work fine but have licensing issues. eSpeak NG has added Direct Boot based on our request for it, meaning it is able to function before the first unlock. RHVoice is missing Direct Boot and can't run before the first unlock. Installing and setting up either one of these or another TTS app will get TalkBack working. TalkBack itself supports Direct Boot and works before the first unlock but it needs to have a TTS app supporting it in order to do more than playing the activation sound before the first unlock. After installing a TTS service, you need to select it in the OS configuration to accept activating it. The OS will display one of them as already selected, but it won't simply work from being installed as that wouldn't be safe. This is the same as the stock OS but it comes with one set up already.

Modes are displayed as tabs at the bottom of the screen. You can switch between modes using the tab interface or by swiping left/right anywhere on the screen. The arrow button at the top of the screen opens the settings panel and you can close it by pressing anywhere outside the settings panel. You can also swipe down to open the settings and swipe up to close it. Outside of the QR scanning mode, there's a row of large buttons above the tab bar for switching between the cameras (left), capturing images and starting/stopping video recording (middle) and opening the gallery (right). The volume keys can also be used as an equivalent to pressing the capture button. While recording a video, the gallery button becomes an image capture button for capturing images.

The app has an in-app gallery and video player for images/videos taken with it. It currently opens an external editor activity for the edit action. GrapheneOS comes with AOSP Gallery which provides an editor activity. You can install a nicer photo editor and the Camera app will be able to use it. We plan to replace AOSP Gallery with a standalone variant of the gallery we're developing for the Camera app in the future.

By default, EXIF metadata is stripped for captured images and only includes the orientation. Stripping metadata for videos is planned but not supported yet. Orientation metadata isn't stripped since it's fully visible from how the image is displayed so it doesn't count as hidden metadata and is needed for proper display. You can toggle off stripping EXIF metadata in the More Settings menu opened from the settings dialog. Disabling metadata stripping will leave the timestamp, phone model, exposure configuration and other metadata. Location tagging is disabled by default and won't be stripped if you enable it.

Functionality depending on the OS integrating Play services and using it as a backend is unavailable. An OS integrating Play uses it as the backend for OS services such as geolocation. GrapheneOS never uses it as the backend/provider for OS services. In cases such as text-to-speech (TTS) where the OS allows the user to choose the provider, Play services can often be used. It's on a level playing field with other apps on GrapheneOS.

Before that I was using the regular flavor of Lineage without microG nor GApps for more than one year and I would say it was ~70% functional (being maps of my runs the big missing piece, as they would not be displayed and/or the app would crash when trying to open them).

That didn't work, now it won't even show updates available.. Its not even connecting to the store at all.. It shows no updates.. THIS is a univeral situation within the network.. NOT thep hone.. I have turned on this phone's HOTSPOT to send internet to my laptop and my other phones.. My other Phones that run android are not able to connect to the playstore and google play services to DOWNLOAD app updates either..

now it wont even show that I have any installed apps in the play store.. I GOT NOTHING the entire list is gone..

This potentially means that every single Assurancewireless customer can no longer get playstore downloads/app updates or firmware updates - Assurancewireless has created a National Security threat on a Global scale: someone needs to contact the FCC and the FTC, this is extremely dangerous and could potentially allow cyber terrorists to infiltrate the network of Assurancewireless/UMX on a global scale via insecure/ out of date apps/ security loops in the handset due to lack of update firmware....

Generally, you should display a UI explaining to the user thefeatures that will be enabled if they grant permissions for theapp to post notifications. This UI should provide the user options toagree or deny, such as OK and No thanksbuttons. If the user selects OK, directly request the permission. If the user selects No thanks, allowthe user to continue without notifications.

Mine is the same way. I did as suggested, the "force quit" button wasn't available and I uninstalled some other Google play services, now I can't get into play store to reinstall. Just white screen. Got nowhere.

I have a rca Voyager tablet that is 4 years old and I keep getting notifications telling me to update Google play services (which I did at least 30 times). Can't afford to but a new tablet at this time. What do I need to update and how do I do it? I usually let my husband take care of things like this.

I had disabled the google play services app previously due to storage issues. When I go to uninstall updates, it tells me it is unsuccessful. Is there another trick to get the notifications to stop appearing?

Some Intune features rely on components of GMS such as the Google Play store or Google Play services. Because these components are not available in environments without GMS, the following features in the Microsoft Intune admin center may be unavailable.

Google Play Game Services[10] can be used by application developers to allow a competitive and social experience through the use of leaderboards, achievements, and multiplayer sessions.[11] Saved Games API is available to sync game saves on Google's cloud infrastructure.[12] Location APIs provide specifications about the location technologies, providing geofencing APIs for scheduling specific actions when the user enters or leaves specific geographic boundaries, Fused Location Provider acquires location information such as reduced power usage and activity recognition for allowing applications to adapt to the current action of the user (e.g. cycling, walking, etc.).[10] ff782bc1db
