    • Part of NALSAR University team that drafted the Bill “The Rights of Persons with Disability”. The Bill is presently pending in Parliament. o Part of NALSAR University team that drafted the Bill “The National Trust Act”. Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is receiving suggestions and comments.
    • Worked on various drafts for Amendment of National Trust Act

    • Developed Guidelines for Promotion of Human Rights Issues of Mentally ill Persons (Vardaan Foundation, Baroda, Gujarat)
    • As Member of the Core Team of National Council Meeting of NCPEDP (2008-2010) Worked on amendments to the National Building Code. Submitted to Bureau of Indian Standards. o Provided inputs towards website accessibility guidelines (WAG) for Government owned websites organised by Centre for Internet and Society, Bangalore.

  • Public Interest Litigation [PIL]
    • PIL 70 of 2002: An umbrella PIL that looked into accessibility. Got 30 BEST buses in Bombay city designed for easy accessibility of persons with disability. The court directed all Govt offices be made disabled friendly in Maharashtra
    • Blind Hawkers : more than 700 Blind and disabled hawkers peddling their wares on various railway stations of Bombay [Mumbai] were being harassed. High Court Order: Three percent reservation for hawkers with disabilities in all hawking zones in Bombay. Provision of Identity cards to all hawkers with disabilities.
    • Right to Vote / Accessibility in Polling Booths: 2004 General Lok Sabha Elections a public interest litigation in the Hon.Bombay High Court to make polling booths disabled friendly. Bombay High Court Order: Provision of dummy ballot paper in Braille so that Blind persons could vote in the spirit of “secret ballot”. Ten thousand polling booths were provided with Braille sheets as a pilot project.
    • Accessibility in Local and Outstation Trains: The case was filed for the non-implementation of the persons with disabilities act 1995 section which specifically speaks about accessibility in railways. The matter is still pending at the Hon. Bombay High Court.
