Symphony No. 1 in C Major is the first symphonic work composed by Quintz. The inclusion of four movements, with a menuetto, sets it apart from most early symphony formats which follow a three movement form. It is made to not be too powerful as to still be playable other than only on a stage.
The symphony is in four movements, and is scored for two flutes (second movement only), two oboes, two horns in C, timpani, and strings.
