My teaching expertise lies in strategy and international business (IB). I have received several awards, including the Cambridge Outstanding Teaching Award and the prestigious King’s Education Award—granted to only eight faculty members out of over 5,000 across the university. At King’s, I have taught on the undergraduate Strategic Management course, achieving an average rating of 4.4/5.0, and served as the Module Leader for the core IB course in the MSc International Management, with an average rating of 4.5/5.0. Overall, in my teaching, I aim to integrate practical insights into my courses by drawing on my professional experience at McKinsey & Company.
One of the key inspirations for my research interest originated during my time working in strategy consulting. While being involved in conducting strategic analyses during these consulting engagements, I became fascinated with issues of large-scale investment decisions. I found it exciting to observe how these major decisions were actually made -- and, to think about the question of why so many companies are struggling with investing and allocating their resources in a way that enhances their chances of innovating successfully and surviving in the long-run. I am thus very grateful for the years I spent with McKinsey & Company back in Germany, and the experiences I made during this time
In my spare time, I enjoy modern art and exploring the diverse London food scene. To clear my mind, I love running or skiing. I am also an ardent supporter of a semi-successful regional football club from Munich.
