On 8 May 2026, Tracy premiered to the world at one of Australia's most iconic outdoor cinemas, the Darwin Deckchair Cinema. It was an incredible night for the Darwin community as we commemorated the 50th anniversary of Cyclone Tracy. A sold-out crowd joined us in celebrating this achievement and showcasing a story deeply connected to Darwin's history.
Following overwhelming audience demand, Night Lights Pictures partnered with two incredible independent cinemas to bring Tracy interstate. This expansion allowed the film to reach new audiences and share Darwin's story with communities beyond the Northern Territory.
South Australian Premiere screened at
The Regal Theatre, located in Adelaide
Western Australia Premiere screened at
The Backlot cinema, located in Perth.
Tracy is now in the distribution stage!
The film is currently being submitted to film festivals across Australia and internationally. This process can take some time, but we'll keep you updated along the way. Keep an eye on our social media channels for announcements about festival selections and upcoming screenings.
Our goal is to secure a permanent platform where the film can live and remain easily accessible to audiences long into the future.
As an independently made production, our distribution journey is also independent. While this presents its own challenges, it certainly doesn't slow our passion or commitment to sharing Tracy with the world.
