Welcome to the Nie Lab at Georgia Institute of Technology!   We are a Developmental Biology lab and we studies cell and tissue movements during animal development. We are also interested in understanding how dysregulation of cell migration and tissue morphogenesis impact development and health. 

We are interested in questions like:

• Why some cells, such as neural crest cells, are more migratory than many other cells?

• How are different cytoskeletal components coordinated during cell migration?

• How is collective migration regulated?

• How cells sense and respond to local environment during their migration?
