Nicolas Guinez

Nicolas Guinez is an economist, with over 7 years of experience at the financial market.

He is currently working as an economist for the United Nations Environment Programme, focused on climate finance, as well as a researcher for the Algorand Fintech Foundation.

He was part of the macroeconomic research team of Itaú Unibanco, covering Chile and Colombia, addressing inflation, monetary policy, and labour markets forecasting.

Previously, he was a Financial Associate for the BCI Corporate and Investment Banking, conducting equity research with focus on the salmon and utility industries.

Prior to this, Nicolas worked as an International Analyst for the Santiago Stock Exchange, where he carried out international stock market analysis. He was in charge of the relationship with several investment funds and international banks, such as BlackRock, Bank of America, Aberdeen, among others.

He’s a PhD Candidate in Economics and Finance at Bocconi University and he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Engineering from Federico Santa María Technical University.

As a fun fact, Nico kickboxed competitively for many years (until his nose gave out). Nowadays he considers himself a keen runner and coffee nerd.
