My name is Nick Shamaiev, I'm a PhD student in Berkovich geometry under the supervision of Prof. Johannes Nicaise at KU Leuven (Belgium). I'm also known under the name Mykola.

My research is directed towards constructing strong deformation retractions of Berkovich spaces. I also like to think about the interplay of Berkovich, logarithmic and birational geometry.
