Here's the essence of the problem: I have DropBox Pro installed on an iPhone 5s, iPad Air, MacBook Pro and Windows desktop computer. I do NOT want to clog up my iPhone, iPad and MacBook with files from DropBox. I want to simply upload and then delete them from the mobile devices. I'd like to use automatic Camera Upload but when I delete the photos from my iPhone or iPad I do NOT want them deleted from DropBox...as has happened on numerous occasions (most recently when I exchanged a broken iPhone for a new one and then tried to copy content from one to the other and subsequently delete unwanted photos...on the iPhone, not "unwanted" from my DropBox space). So how do I do a one way sync? Keep in mind that after photos appear in the Camera Upload folder, I MOVE them to a different desired location...and when they're deleted from my iPhone, they are still deleted from the new location!

I was able to clear MANY gigs of space off of my iPad, iPhone, and my MacBook Pro Retina using this feature within the Dropbox App on all devices. After I kept them all opened and made sure all syncs were finished, I deleted an unwanted pic from my camera roll. This kept the pic on my dropbox while it was removed from every device I had it located on. The program worked flawlessly. I then deleted every pic from my devices as I only wanted access to them online since my Macbook or iPhone is almost always with me. Now, I'm completely untethered from my local internal and external storage. Perfect solution for the supply and demand I was needing so desperately.
this doesn't work for me. if I delete photos from my samsung smartphone then they immediately get deleted from the dropbox folder on my pc. I'd like to be able to free up space on my smartphone but keep the photos in Dropbox folder on other devices
Not true. The Dropbox app on mobile devices does not store files like the regular computer clients do. Yes, it may have a copy of the files for a short time, but this is just a cache. The only files stored permanently on mobile devices are those marked as available offline. Otherwise any files stored locally by the Dropbox app are periodically deleted automatically.
Deleting the photo from your Photo Gallery (after it has been uploaded of course) will not delete the copy that was uploaded to Dropbox. The Carousel app (discontinued) had a nice feature that would purge any photos from the gallery that had already been uploaded to Dropbox. It's likely that will be incorporated into the Dropbox client at some point.
If I click on a particular image in DropBox from the Photos tab and then select "..." for its settings I see that is say "Make Available for Offline" which can be toggled to "Remove From Device". Which is the correct setting to remove them my device?
Is there a way to set the default to "Remove From Device" if that is the setting I'm looking for? I don't seen any obvious way to select all the images and set this globally.

I am writing to you today to request that you allow users to set their own pictures or images from their phone gallery as the background for the new tab page in Firefox. I think this would be a great addition to the new tab page, as it would allow users to personalize their browser experience and make it more visually appealing. Currently, the only way to change the new tab page background is to choose from a selection of 12 built-in images. While these images are nice, they are limited in number and variety. Allowing users to set their own pictures or images as the background would give them much more flexibility and control over the look of their new tab page. They could use pictures of their favorite places, pets, or family members. They could also use images that they find inspiring or calming. I believe that this would be a popular feature with Firefox users. A recent survey found that 70% of Firefox users would like to be able to set their own pictures as the background for the new tab page. I urge you to consider adding this feature to Firefox in a future update. I think it would be a great way to improve the user experience and make Firefox even more appealing to users.

I quickly discovered the 10x macro lens was my personal favorite since it suited most of my subjects. So I also got the Olloclip Macro 3-in-1 set, which has lenses offering 7x, 14x, and 21x magnification, as well as a couple of special hoods that diffuse the lighting and make getting a good shot a bit easier.
As with all forms of photography, lighting is critically important for taking good macro pictures. In other words, if you want good mobile macro shots, you must learn to use the light to your advantage!
Another option is to shoot during the golden hours (sunrise and sunset); while the light tends to be less bright, and while you do sometimes need to be mindful of accidentally casting unwanted shadows over your subject, the soft light can complement flowers and insects beautifully.
One trick: If you shoot when the sun is low in the sky, you can catch bits of sunlight in the background of your images. When you get close to your subject using a macro lens, the background light will often turn into a lovely addition to your photos in the form of bokeh, or out-of-focus areas that make your pictures appear to glow:
Additionally, smartphone macro lenses generally restrict you to close-up focusing. One consequence is that your intended subject can be too large to capture in its entirety, even with a lower-magnification macro lens (e.g., the 7x Olloclip).
Once you capture a nice macro photo on your phone, you can share it directly on social media. But a little bit of editing can go a long way! To get that polished look, I encourage you to spend a couple minutes post-processing your phone shot before sharing.

The camera of your phone usually focuses on the object closest to it. But sometimes you prefer to focus on another point in the photo. Then tap your finger on the screen where you want to focus and the image and sharpness adjusts automatically. You can now easily determine which part of the photo should be sharp and which part is not.
Most phones have a digital zoom which does not work great. Especially with the older phones, the image is only enlarged instead of actually zooming in on the subject. This makes the photo grainy and that makes a photo less beautiful. Choose to go closer to the subject yourself instead of zooming in with the zoom function of your camera on your phone.
Make sure the horizon is always straight on your photo. A slanted photo can sometimes give a nice effect, but only do this with photos that do not have a horizon on it. Otherwise the picture will be restless. On many phones you can turn on a grid in the camera settings. With the grid enabled you can see exactly whether the photo taken is straight or not.

In the dark it is virtually impossible to take beautiful pictures with a mobile phone and even during gray winter days it almost impossible to take beautiful pictures. So use sunny, light days. If the sun has just risen in the morning or just before sunset, the most beautiful photos are taken. If you want to take photos, it is important to photograph with the light in your back. That gives the most beautiful effect. In the open air it can sometimes be nice to take pictures while you look into the sun. It is great to experiment with this!
