PRESENTER

REV. JURGEN LIIAS

Recalling the heart's desire of Jesus that "all his disciples would be one," Fr. Jurgen Liias, a married Anglican priest, accepted the call after Pope Benedict XVI authorized the creation of "ordinaries" in 2009; a national structure allowing Anglicans to retain most of their religious heritage and traditions in the Roman Catholic Church. On April 20, 2013, Cardinal Sean O'Malley ordained Fr. Liias and he became one of the first Anglican priests in the country to be ordained a Catholic priest. Fr. Liias says the deciding factor for him was, "I got to keep my wife." Fr. Liias is currently serving at St. Patrick Parish in Stoneham, MA.
