Welcome to the 7th International Workshop on Nonhydrostatic Models.
Nonhydrostatic models (NHMs) and their application to numerical weather prediction and climate study have advanced rapidly in the past several decades. This workshop addresses all aspects of NHMs, from large-eddy simulation models to nonhydrostatic global models. It covers papers on the development and/or improvement of dynamical frames, physics, and data assimilation. We also welcome papers on predictability and on applications spanning a wide range of spatio-temporal scales, from mesoscale phenomena—such as tropical cyclones, heavy precipitation, and shallow clouds—to climate variability. Future high-performance computing and its combination with AI/ML for meteorological and climate research is one of our great focuses.
We sincerely look forward to seeing many of you at what will be one of the face-to-face academic meetings.
Specific scopes (but not limited to):
• Dynamical core
• Data assimilation
• Global km-scale modeing / Regional climate modeling
• Mesoscale modeling / Large-eddy simulation
• Physical processes
• Evaluation of numerical weather prediction
• Next generation architecture / ML・AI
• Analyses of meteorological phenomena
• Interdisciplinary application of weather/climate models (e.g., hydrology, agriculture, civil engineering)
