Hi! I am Ngo Hang Chan (陳敖行), also known as Owen. My pronouns are he/him.
I am a PhD student at the University of Manchester, supervised by Omar León Sánchez and Nicola Gambino. My research mainly concerns the interaction of model theory and categorical logic.
Before coming to Manchester, I read Mathematics and Philosophy at the University of Oxford, where I wrote my masters dissertation under the supervision of Ehud Hrushovski. I was also the organ scholar at Merton College.
I am natively bilingual (English and Cantonese) and can also speak Mandarin and Japanese (work in progress). I am proficient in Python.
My first name is "Ngo Hang" (pronounced "o hang"), and my last name is "Chan". "Hang" is not a middle name. For all purposes except formal record-keeping, I go by "Owen".
