Senior Life Center with Elderly-led Makerspace for Pre-frail and Frail Elderly
Frailty is multidimensional loss of reserves energy, physical ability, cognition and health. For people living with frailty the state for an individual is not static; it can be made better and worse which is often described as a transitional phase between successful ageing and disability. Older adults who will require care in assisted living residences, are highly vulnerable to declines in wellbeing and sense of autonomy, as a result of decreased social interaction, physical activity, and intellectual stimulation. This may lead to a loss of independence due to an increasing feebleness or frailty. Thus, the ageing population challenge is to foster functional ability to enhance intrinsic capacity and both physical and mental wellbeing. One of the most important factors to achieve this is the prevention and management of frailty. While, makerspace helps on the shift from being passive consumers of information and products to active creators and innovators. The purpose of encouraging people who were interested in gaining new skills, commencing new hobbies and working with and forming communities that share the same interest. As this coexistence community grows and gains traction by adapting to the consequences of declining function with socially engaged within the community context, it also helps prevent negative stereotypes about the elderly.

+ Health Care
Exercise, walking, and strength training all help limit frailty and maintain mobility.
+ Social Care
