Diversity

New york city is one of the cities in America that is the most diverse city. With a population of 8.4 million and over 600 hundred languages are spoken. In the chart below is an example that exhibits how New York is a large and ethnically diverse and is one of the largest states in the United States with a long history of international immigration. The colors Red represents White, Blue represents Black, Green represents Asian, Orange represents Hispanic, Yellow is Other, and each dot is 25 residents. Compared to the other past census before it is shown how New york itself has progressed in growing its diversity. Although some may say that that census was taken ten years ago and that the percentages are not the same, it is also taken a note of that the 2020 census will most likely show an increase of percentages.

Different environment

New York is one of the most busiest and energetic places in the world which is a good thing. If you are someone that comes from a small quiet town, new york would be a big change for you and it can also be a change that you need. This state is very consisted of working hard every day. Timothy Scott on Quora a new york local says, "Many people put in very long hours, whether to make those large corporate and law firm salaries or working three jobs just to get by. It makes the city incredibly busy and focused. "To find your personal legend you are obviously going to have to work very hard and with new york having an enviornment like that would be perfect for you. Although pop culture does give a warped image of New york it is not exactly all like that. Lauren Kearney says, "These TV shows have us believe that New York is this ultra cool, glamorous place where dreams come true. In reality, it has its bad sides too, just like any other major city in the world." Your dreams won't just exactly arrive at the palm of your hands, while you may enjoy your life in NYC you would also have to work very hard in order to accomplish the dreams you want.

Differnet enviornment also comes with meeting different people

With a different environment, it also comes with many different people. with a population of 8.4 million, there are going to be many different people of many different personalities. Jerome Espinosa on quora who is a new yorker as well says "Most people here are friendly or friends-like with you, but you got to learn right away that most New Yorkers are busy, and are just minding their own business. You can easily watch and overhear strangers talking about deep matters, especially in the subway and the bus." There's always going to be someone interesting in the streets of new york especailly when there are lots of people who like expressing themselves whether it's in clothing, art, or makeup even. Emily Yang says "You won’t feel like you are being judged by doing things or looking different, because everyone is different." People shouldn't really worry about "fitting in" when everybody is always standing out.
