Newtown Square, PA, is a Thriving Suburb

Within the Philadelphia metropolitan area, the quiet and peaceful Newtown Square is a historic community settled by Quakers in 1681. It was a farming community with simple homes and stone farmhouses for more than two centuries before it became a place for wealthy Philadelphians to hunt and ride horses. Newtown Square is now a thriving suburban community due to a trolley system that connected it to Philadelphia and a construction boom after World War II. It's a family-friendly atmosphere, a small-town vibe, and extensive history. From Bartram's Covered Bridge, the last covered bridge in Delaware County, to the Square Tavern, history is everywhere. Are you considering moving to Newtown Square, Pennsylvania? It's a nice thought.

Newtown Fighting Order to Turn Over Police Officer

The Newtown Township Manager, Kurt Ferguson, spoke about the Township's decision to appeal an order from the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records stating that inmates in prison have the right to information about police officers, including their home addresses and previous employment locations. Ferguson told Dom Giordano on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT that many prisoners who requested this information had previously been convicted of violent offenses. According to the news, there is no evidence of a covert plot other than to frighten those officers, which I agree with, so inmates don't need to know the address of the police officers. Frankly, these requests come from individuals who have committed horrible acts. It's scary, so hopefully, the inmates don't have the right to this information. Read more
