This Privacy Policy describes how NewsSaathi ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our mobile application ("App," "Service").
By using NewsSaathi, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
NewsSaathi does not require account creation for readers. We do not collect your name, phone number, or email address to use the App.
When you use the App, certain information may be collected automatically:
Device Information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers (such as a randomly generated device ID used for likes/dislikes/voting features).
Advertising Identifier: Google Advertising ID (AAID), used by Google AdMob to serve and measure advertisements.
Push Notification Token: A Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token is generated and stored to deliver breaking news notifications to your device.
Usage Data: Interactions such as articles viewed, likes, dislikes, comments, and app engagement statistics (used to display view counts and improve content).
Approximate Location (if applicable): Some advertising and analytics services may infer general location (city/region level) from your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location.
If you choose to leave a comment, that comment text is stored and may be publicly visible to other users within the App.
We use the collected information to:

Enable likes, dislikes, and comment features
Show advertisements through Google AdMob
Monitor and improve app performance and reliability

Data collected is stored securely using Google Firebase infrastructure.
Access to administrative data (news content management) is restricted to authenticated administrators only.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information; however, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
We retain usage data (such as view counts, likes, and device identifiers used for voting) for as long as necessary to provide the App's features. You may request deletion of data associated with your device by contacting us (see Section 9).
NewsSaathi is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable law (such as GDPR or CCPA), including the right to:
Request access to information associated with your device
Request deletion of your data
Opt out of personalized advertising
Withdraw consent for notifications at any time (via device settings)

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
