Heather Hall, our Director of Campus Activities and Engagement, was named the inaugural Fraternity Sorority Advisor of the Year by the national headquarters of both the Acacia Fraternity and Sigma Tau Gamma, honoring her leadership of our Fraternity and Sorority Life community. For Heather, the honor lay in being seen by these organizations as a collaborative partner in their students’ education, leadership development, and safety — a recognition she called “a real moment,” and one she richly deserves.
"I am so grateful and humbled to be recognized by not one, but two of our four national fraternity partners. Typically, this does not happen to a Fraternity Sorority Advisor during their career, but to have it happen twice - I just don't know what to say. Working with the leaders in the FSL community is the most tasking and most rewarding part of my job at Pitt-Johnstown," said Heather. She went on to say: "Sigma Tau Gamma has been an incredible partner to the University and it has been a privilege to work with the team in Kansas City. For them to say 'you were everyone's first choice' for the Distinguished Interfraternal Leadership Award is just so special. And, then, to Acacia give me their first Fraternity Sorority Advisor of the Year award, I am just so touched. Our FSL community is strong but mighty and I am hopeful that we will continue to make a positive and impactful mark on Pitt-Johnstown's history!"
