Democracy Bowl 

The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown hosted the 2026 Democracy Bowl on Thursday, April 9, at the Living Learning Center, as part of the American Civic Education (ACE) and Literacy Initiative's celebration of America's 250th anniversary. The daylong event brought together middle and high school teams from ten regional school districts — Greater Johnstown, Northern Cambria, Everett Area, Homer Center, Indiana Area, West Shamokin, Portage Area, Conemaugh Valley, Forest Hills, and Ferndale Area — for a Trivia Competition, a Civics Fair showcasing students' civic action projects, campus tours, and vendor networking.
