Stimulating curiosity, outdoor life, community cohesion and public health, we aim to leave a legacy inspired by our relationship to nature and in particular, trees.  Something Woodlands is proud of, with many mature Chestnuts, Sweet Chestnuts and Cedars across a great space.

Boosting values of pride in place, respect and transparency along with engaging fun, this event will feed into a neighbourhood plan for Adwick/Woodlands.  

There will be inspiring workshops/events/stalls/showcases, from local people, which remind us how brilliant Woodlands/Adwick already is. We will be shining a light on the design and architectural ambitions of the original garden city and how green spaces were part of the architectural planning.

Many of the principles underpinning the utopian innovation was open space, clean air, trees, health and woodlands on the site of what had been the deer park of the Brodsworth estate and at the beginning of the 20th Century, tied housing.  Special care went into considering workers conditions and their relationship to green space and nature, how can we continue that in our current condition locally?

Here we will be collectively re-igniting pride in place including amongst those feeling disenfranchised or with different cultural values; creating space for new voices in a longer term vision and strategy for the area.  We are working with local champions and community partners with a joined up approach to engagement, connection and celebration.
