Minister Search

The Newberg Church of Christ is actively looking to hire a Lead Minister. We are a non-denominational Church of Christ congregation located in Newberg, Oregon, in the heart of the beautiful Willamette Valley. Our Sunday mornings consist of Bible classes for all ages at 9:00am, followed by an acapella worship service at 10:15am, during which time we share in Communion together. Members are encouraged to participate in small groups on Sunday afternoons and evenings, as well as on various days throughout the week. On Wednesdays, we host a community meal at 6:00pm, followed by Bible classes for all ages. On a Sunday morning, our regular attendance is around 160 people. As a congregation, we teach faith, repentance, and baptism for salvation, and are dedicated to spending time in the Word and in prayer, learning and growing together as the Body of Christ.

We are a multigenerational congregation. We have several members who have attended our congregation for 50+ years. We also have strong youth and children’s ministry programs, led by a full-time Youth Minister. As a congregation, we have recently been attracting several non-churched attenders and are committed to being active within the Newberg community, to serve those who are in our neighborhood, with the hopes of helping them see and experience the love of God. The mission of the Newberg Church of Christ is: Love God, serve our neighbors, and grow followers of Jesus.

In our search for a Lead Minister, we are looking to find someone who is Spirit-Led and is able to build relationships with others. We would like to find someone who has experience in professional ministry, with successful pulpit experience, and who is respected by others.

The Lead Minister’s primary responsibilities will include preparing and delivering Sunday morning sermons, providing pastoral care for members within the congregation, and taking an active role within the Leadership Team at the Newberg Church of Christ, which is comprised of four elders, ten deacons, two full-time ministers, and one full-time office manager. Other responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Overseeing day-to-day operations of the office staff and facilities, Small Group Director, Worship Planning, Teaching Classes, overseeing Communications, and being our congregational liaison to the Newberg-Dundee community and the Willamette Valley Churches of Christ.
