intro to Class-web

CLASS-Web is the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District's online automated services system. Students use CLASS-Web to manage their enrollment in courses, pay fees, check their grades, etc. Faculty use CLASS-Web to view rosters, manage enrollment, submit grades, etc.

CLASS-Web is a huge system so we are focusing on the topics that are most helpful to new faculty during their first semester. Additional topics are covered in tutorials embedded in CLASS-Web, and if you ever have any questions don't hesitate to ask a fellow faculty member or one of us for assistance!

Logging in

From the CLASS-Web homepage select "Sign-On to CLASS-Web" in the upper left-hand corner to reach the sign in page. You will be prompted for your W-Number and your PIN. Your PIN is a 6-digit number used to log in to the system. By default your PIN is your birth date in the format DDMMYY. You should change your PIN to something more secure after logging in to CLASS-Web for the first time.

attendance reporting & rosters

Please see the CLASS-web Helpful Hints on Attendance Reporting & Rosters document for a complete breakdown of the different types of rosters, what they are used for, how to add/drop students, etc.

important dates

You may find a list of all important dates for each class you are teaching after logging in to CLASS-web. On the "Faculty and Staff Menu" tab scroll to the very bottom of the page and select "Check Class Deadline for Students". You will be prompted to enter the CRN (Course Record Number) for the course and select the term. Enter the appropriate information and press "Submit". This will generate a list of all the important dates for that particular class, see the example below.

Be sure to check the dates for each section you are teaching as dates can vary from section to section, especially if you are teaching a late-start or a short-term course.

grades

Please see the CLASS-web Helpful Hints on Grades document for information about submitting grades.
