Network Methods

Mathematics and Statistics 2.5 (AS91260) Apply network methods in solving problems

This site covers a 2 credit NCEA level 2 standard. It is largely stand-alone, and doesn't rely on much knowledge from Level 1.

Demonstrating knowledge of network methods and applying them in context is key to this standard.

Show your working and explain the methods you use carefully. Written responses are expected.

It's best to work through the sections in order, but sections 3 and 4 could be reversed, depending on preference.

Within most sections, you will find these types of questions to answer:

Checkpoints

These test basic skills with short answer questions.

Exercises

These test applying the skills, but without a context. The same worksheet is used for each one.

Tasks

These apply the skills within a context. The same contexts are reused throughout the sections.

Investigations

These are more generalized problems that require extended abstract thinking.
