Creating a Job Listing Online
Generic templates are available to help make a job listing.
· Go to Jobs – Job Templates
· Creating a Template to use:
· You will see the ‘standard job template’ – DO NOT EDIT/DELETE that
· Select the pink action – “Copy Job Template”
Edit the description:
o to your county- I would save it as that so you can easily identify
o Read description thoroughly
o Include only info that is specific to you
o Now you will have it for future postings
If you don’t want to use a template, you can just Create your own Job Listing:
1). Go to Jobs – Job Listings
2). Select “New Job Listing” in Pink,
3). Then select “New job template”
*Make sure if you select a template, it’s one you have created/changed.
When creating the listing, some notes:
Job Category = Administrative Support Workers
Pay is $15 minimum - $15 maximum
You will post it by zip code. But you cannot do it for multiple zip codes, only 1 at a time.
Pick the biggest zip code for your area to get the most people – or target areas
Viewing/Interviewing your Applicants:
Once you create your job posting, you can view anyone who applies:
Applicant – Applicants by Job – Select your Job Listing
Filters
*if you’re not seeing all your applicants, make sure to filter by status or active.
There are many other filters: “left voicemail” - “Phone interview scheduled” - “1st interview completed”
Please use however you see fit
Reviewing/Interviewing your Applicants
• Use the listing to contact applicants and interview them.
• You can send them messages through Ihire or directly through email/phone.
• You may change their status to: reviewed or unqualified & filter
Please make sure you 100% want to hire them!
• Interview thoroughly
• Explain the specifics of the job – Pros/Cons
• Make sure they are an employee worth investing training & IPADS in
• If you do not want them – change the status to “Not qualified” or “Not Selected”
• You do not need to notify the office of those you do not select
Once you commit/decide on them, let your coordinator/Karlyn/Missy know that an application has been submitted,
• A welcome email will be sent to let potential new hire know about background check and Isolved set up emails.
• Karlyn/Missy will start the background check process on our end
• Supervisor must communicate with new hire to check email to approve the background check consent. Once the background clears, Karlyn/Missy get notification email its done.
• Karlyn/Missy move the applicant info from Ihire to Isolved & applicant receives an email to complete Isolved set up online
• Official welcome is confirmed via email by Karlyn/Missy, CAPI ID is set up by Karlyn/Missy
• Charles W. will send out the IPAD directly to enumerator to get started (unless supe requests IPAD goes directly to them)
You can still recruit people ‘the traditional way’ –
• Churches/Friends/Relatives/Bulletin Boards/Ads
• You may still post on Indeed or other sites of choice
o (Although if you create an ad through Ihire, Charlie confirmed it gets posted to a facet of sites, including indeed)
o
If you find a good 'real life' fit - to add them as an applicant in Ihire:
• Select Add on top
• Then “Add Applicant”
• Then Select the Job listing you want to add them (you must have created one specific to you first, earlier slides)
• Include Email, Contact name and Address, Number, Etc.
• Then hit view new application –It will take you to new page
• Go to Actions: “Send invite to Applicant to complete Application”
• You will need to add their name/email as contact
• It will give you options to select/deselect, then hit send
• Once they receive the email - they click the link to complete the application online,
• You will get notified in Isolved you have a new applicant, and the process becomes the same as any.
Q&A
• Q: Should we still be asking for references? Is there a place in Ihire for applicants to enter their references?
A: Yes, it is a good idea if you want to ask them for references. Yes, there is a place for references in the application online, it is a field that’s not required but they may add them.
• Q: Are there templates for job listings?
A: Yes, a generic template is available to make a job listing. It should be under the job templates listing.
• Q: Minimum and maximum pay? I am getting a big X error marks where it says minimum and maximum pay when typing in the digits.
A: $15 - $15, per hour – the pay digit columns should be filled in – just “15.00” – not dollar signs!!!
• Q: I get so many applicants. How can I filter them all
A: There is a way to filter – go to jobs on top – job questions – and you can set ‘disqualifying questions” Then you can go to applicants on top – all applicants, and filter the drop down to ‘qualified’ then the status bar on the right can be filtered as well by many options.
• Q. Do we still have to do the test?
A: Yes, the test is 100% online – there will be no paper test or application submitted.
