Saturday, April 6, 2019

Hiawatha Elementary School

Essex Junction, VT

Author Event will be open to public.

What is nErDcampVT?

nErDcampVT is an "unconference" or "Edcamp" that focuses on literacy.

What is an "unconference" you ask? It's a conference where the participants get to choose the topics they wish to explore. Check out the difference between a traditional conference and an "unconference" here. Edutopia explains what an Edcamp is here.

Some topics will be pre-planned, but most will be selected by participants of nErDcampVT. You decide which sessions to attend and you can 'vote with your feet' to move to another session if your first choice isn't working for you.

The day is divided into 3 one-hour sessions--two in the morning and one in the afternoon. Some sessions will be led by participants who have strategies, tools, or ideas to share. Other sessions might be more collaborative round table discussions on specific topics where everyone has an opportunity to weigh in.

nErDcampVT is free but space is limited. We do need a head count for planning purposes, so be sure to register beginning February 6th. Certificates of attendance will be available at the end of the day.

The Author Event does not require registration and is open to the general public from 2:30 - 3:30 PM. Families are welcome to stop by and visit with their favorite authors/illustrators and books will be available for purchase and autographing!

nErDcampVT is absolutely and totally inspired by the original nErDcamp Battle Creek which was created by the awesome Colby Sharp of Parma, Michigan.
