21 November - 18 December
For the love of science and sport
This year will mark the 2nd installment of the NephroWorldCup: a unique gamified learning experience that combines our love of science and sport. The Tournament will begin on 21 November; until then, we have a number of educational events scheduled throughout the year.
Like 2018, the 2022 Tournament will feature scientific manuscripts authored by researchers from 32 nations: nations that are represented in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
We have, and continue to, carefully select scientific articles in the CVRM space (cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic diseases) to broaden our educational horizons and spur cross-collaborations between Nephrologists, Cardiologists, and Endocrinologists.
And as a bonus, we will have a special examination of relevant manuscripts in the burgeoning field of Onconephrology.
The manuscripts are published in the local nephrology journals of each nation represented in The Tournament. For many of you, playing the NephroWorldCup will actually be the first time you will have come across them.
There will be a number of methods employed to accurately condense the educational material. Don't worry....no one will have to read all 32 manuscripts front-to-back in order to have a full NephroWorldCup experience 😀.
New to the 2022 Tournament is our use of innovative communication tools to convey the science to you, regardless of your background. We’re making a large commitment towards effective scientific communication by combining these 3 essential attributes into all our communication methods: accuracy, thoroughness, and efficiency.
This attribute-triad will permeate every aspect of the 2022 NephroWorldCup and represents just one of the many commitments that we're making to your educational experience.
Qualifying Matches (QM) are currently live and we encourage you to select the single-best manuscript that should represent each nation. From now until September, your vote in a Qualifying Match will allows you to customize the NephroWorldCup Tournament in a way that no other gamified learning product has ever done.
And if you're looking to communicate with other NephroWorldCup players, join one of our three (3) Players Forums (Facebook, WhatsApp, or #NephroWorldCup). You can stay abreast of relevant updates, discuss and debate manuscripts in the QMs, and gauge your competition as we march towards the start of the Tournament.
As each month brings us closer to the 21st of November, this website will be updated with pertinent information that you’ll want to know before registering (free) to learn and play.
