Miss Alexis Mason is working toward her bachelor’s degree in Music Performance at West Virginia University. Growing up in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, Miss Mason has played in concert bands, jazz bands, marching bands, and was a member of the PMEA All State Concert Band and Wind Ensemble. Upon entering college, she was awarded the NAAA Warren Young Scholarship and the Waynesburg Lions Club Girls of the Year Scholarship. Currently, Miss Mason is on the President's List at WVU, a member of the WVU Saxophone Studio , WVU Jazz Band, WVU Wind Symphony, and studies under Dr. Jeffery Siegfried.
Victoria (Tori) Stanish is a current music education student at West Virginia University (Class of 2025). Her primary instrument is saxophone but has experience with flute, clarinet, and trumpet. Tori has been playing the Alto Saxophone for about 10 years and also has focused on tenor saxophone for about the last two years. She has been active in several WVU ensembles such as saxophone quartet, WVU Wind ensembles, and the WVU jazz band. As she continues her studies in music education she hopes to pass along all the knowledge she has gained and continue to learn alongside her students.
B. Greer Lambert, a 20-year-old native of Morgantown, is currently pursuing a major in Music Performance at WVU. Throughout high school, Lambert gigged across the entire state of West Virginia with jazz combos and singer-songwriters. Classically trained, Greer was a 3 time member of the WVMEA All State Band. Since beginning his studies at WVU, Greer has toured in neighboring states with acts such as the Davisson Brothers Band and the WV Jazz Society. Lambert is on the President’s List at WVU, participating in their jazz combos and consistently featured as a soloist in their top Big Band. In addition to his performances, he has demonstrated his dedication to music education by serving as a jazz vibraphone instructor at the Newport Jazz Camp, overseeing daily jam sessions and combo instruction. Recently, Lambert has expanded his teaching role to include drum set and classical percussion at Nels Bells Music, highlighting his commitment to both performing and educating in the dynamic world of music.
Greta Hulterstrum is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in flute performance at West Virginia University with Professor Assimakopoulos. Greta performs in the WVU Symphony Orchestra, WVU Wind Symphony, and recently participated in the 2024 Chicago Summer Opera Orchestra. She was previously a member of Minnesota Youth Symphonies, winning the MYS concerto competition in 2021, and the MYS Woodwind Quintet. Some of Greta’s recent accomplishments include winning 2nd prize in the Central Ohio Flute Association Collegiate Competition, performing at the National Flute Association Convention in Phoenix, and performing in masterclasses with Jasmine Choi, Jim Walker, Alexa Still, Imani Winds, and Carol Wincenc. Greta has enjoyed getting to mentor and teach other students in the WVU flute studio and hopes to continue sharing her knowledge and love for music with others!
Trombonist Olivia Nixon is a Music Education major at West Virginia University. At WVU she studies under renowned bass trombonist, Hakeem Bilal. Although an undergraduate student, her performance experiences extend beyond the collegiate and into the professional realm. She is a regular substitute for the River City Brass Band and currently is the Bass Trombonist for the Washington Jazz Orchestra. As a soloist Olivia has competed as a finalist at WVU’s 2024 Young Artist Concerto Competition and the 2024 Keynotes Concerto Scholarship Competition. Additionally, she frequently plays with groups around the Pittsburgh, PA, and Morgantown, WV areas. This includes orchestral pits (Curtains, Sweet Charity, and Cabaret), providing sacred music at church services, performing in chamber music settings, and making cocktail hour appearances. She takes pride in her variety of musical experiences which include performing on CJ Rhen’s debut album, CJ Time.
Not only is Olivia a sought-after performer but as an educator as well. As of 2023 Olivia has recently accepted a position with the West Virginia University Community Music Program. Since then, she has expanded to work at David’s Music House in McMurray, PA, and partner with Nells Bells in Morgantown, WV. As an instructor of low brass and piano, she individually caters to each students’ personal goals to strengthen their skills as a musician. Her mission is to make music accessible to as many people as possible. She continues to work towards this goal by providing private lessons and directing ensembles through these organizations. Aside from private instruction Olivia has worked for Canon McMillan’s Big Mac Marching Band as their Low Brass Instructor (2024), Morgantown Community Orchestra’s Brass Instructor (2023-present), and the West Virginia University Community Music Program Brass Ensemble Director for the spring 2024 season.
In the future, Olivia looks forward to applying for a graduate degree in Trombone Performance. She is hoping to combine her passions for the trombone, music education, brass pedagogy, and music theory during the next two years. This degree will be completed in hopes to spread her love of music with those around her.
Badyn Woodford, a native of St. Clairsville, OH, is a musician, creative artist, composer, and conductor. He’s studied piano under the tutelage of Ms. Linda Steffl, Dr. Gerald Lee, Dr. Millard Neal, and GRAMMY-nominated musician Dr. Lucy Mauro. Badyn has also studied organ with Dr. William Haller & Dr. Millard Neal, trombone with Mr. Hakeem A. Bilal and Dr. Keith Jackson, jazz improvisation with Dr. Robert Sears and Dr. Jared Sims, & wind conducting with Dr. Scott Tobias and Dr. Cheldon R. Williams. His dedication to elevating his passion has led to a plethora of opportunities to perform across the country and abroad, including three appearances in The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, NY (2021, ’24, ’26), as well as various churches and universities throughout the United States and Italy. These performances include organ recitals, worship services, charity events, festivals, and public exhibitions held at a myriad of venues. Badyn is currently a junior at West Virginia University in the Honors College, and a candidate for the Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education. Within the School of Music, he is and has been a part of many ensembles, including but not limited to, The Pride of West Virginia, Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Film Score Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble II. In addition to his degree-prescribed studies, he is pursuing an independent research project on Leonard Bernstein’s monumental 1971 work Mass, mentored by WVU faculty member Dr. Jennifer Walker. Additional research interests include forensic musicology, liturgical music, and 20th century composers. Away from the University setting, Woodford is half of the Lampert & Woodford Duo, and is on the instructional staff of the Steubenville High School ‘Big Red’ Marching Band, the Harrison Central High School Music Department, and Nels Bells Music Studio. He’s involved in a variety of professional organizations, including The National Association for Music Education, The American Musicology Society, The West Virginia University School of Music Advisory Board, The American Guild of Organists, The Royal College of Organists, The West Virginia Music Educators Association, and the International
Trombone Association. Following his undergraduate work, Badyn plans to expand his expertise by concurrently pursuing an M.A. in Musicology with an M.S.M in Organ Performance, followed by a Ph.D. in Musicology. Outside of music, you can find Badyn crafting new dishes in the kitchen, waking up early to catch aerial photos of sunrises, or spinning an album on his Crosley turntable.
Ryder Merritt is an accomplished musician. From a very young age, he pursued his musical interests in Los Angeles, California, where he studied Japanese Taiko drumming for two years. Ryder started playing the upright bass in middle school. After his family relocated to Morgantown, Ryder joined the District Advanced Orchestra. In 2023, he was selected as All State 2nd Chair Bassist. Then went on to be selected for 1st Chair Bassist for University High School’s orchestra his Freshman year.
Currently, Ryder is a percussionist in the award winning UHS Marching Band, and also plays bass and drums for the UHS Jazz Ensemble. He was placed in the AP Music Theory class a year ahead of requirements. In addition to his traditional training, Ryder has performed on the drums and guitar in a local rock band with the Pop Shop. He is also the guitarist of Jombo Jazz, which recently had a summer residency at the Morgantown Art Bar.
Ryder’s music taste is eclectic. A lover of the intricacies of jazz, he is also an avid fan of rock and roll.

Wilson “Sasha” Bondarchuk is an emerging music educator from Eldersburg, Maryland. He will graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from West Virginia University in December of 2026. During his time at WVU, he participated in the Pride of West Virginia, WVU Wind Symphony, WVU Symphony Orchestra, and WVU Percussion ensemble while remaining an active member of the WVU Percussion Studio.
In 2022, Sasha marched snare drum with the Skyliners Drum and Bugle Corps, in 2024, he joined the Music City Drum and Bugle Corps, and is marching with the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps for his final year. Additionally, he has played drumset in a variety of different genres and ensembles. These styles include rock, metal, and jazz in chamber, wind band, and orchestral settings.
Sasha has taught percussion in the Morgantown (WV) area and has worked with schools in the Carroll County (MD) area including Century High School and Liberty Highschool in Eldersburg, Maryland.
In his free time, Sasha enjoys cooking, arranging marching percussion, and playing video games.
