Nektarios A. Michail

Welcome to my website. 

I am the Chief Economist at the Bank of Cyprus, the largest financial institution in the country.

I have previously been employed by the Central Bank of Cyprus as an Officer A at the Economic Analysis and Research Department (June 2019 - June 2025), with a 7-month stint as a Financial Stability Expert at the European Central Bank during the 2021 Stress Tests. I was also previously employed by HF Markets (Europe) (2018-2019), an investment fund (2019), and as an Economist the Economic Analysis and Research Department of the Central Bank of Cyprus (2014-2018). 

I hold a Ph.D from the Cyprus University of Technology (2016), an MSc from the University of Cyprus and a BSc from the same institution.

My research interests include Economic Policy, International Economics, Maritime Economics, Econometrics, and Financial Economics.
