PRIVACY POLICY FOR NEKOPOI

This Privacy Policy explains how the Nekopoi Android application ("Nekopoi," "the App," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the App.
1. INFORMATION WE HANDLE
Information stored on your device
Nekopoi may store your bookmarks, watch history, playback progress, episode-notification selections, app preferences, and advertising reward status locally on your device. This information is used to provide the App's features and is not intentionally uploaded by us to a user account. Android may include local App data in a device backup according to your device and Google account settings.
Advertising and technical information
The App uses AppLovin MAX and may use its mediated advertising partners, including Meta Audience Network, to display advertisements. These providers may automatically process information such as your IP address, device and advertising identifiers, device type, operating system, language, general location derived from your IP address, ad interactions, and diagnostic or performance information. Their processing is governed by their own privacy policies.
Content and network requests
The App connects to online services to retrieve anime and movie information, images, trailers, update information, and video content. These services may receive ordinary network information, including your IP address, browser or device details, and request activity. Embedded websites or video players may also use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies.
Nekopoi does not require you to create an account and does not directly request your name, postal address, phone number, contacts, precise location, photos, camera, or microphone.
2. HOW INFORMATION IS USED
Information is used to:
- Provide browsing, playback, bookmarks, history, and progress features;
- Deliver optional new-episode notifications;
- Display, measure, prevent fraud in, and improve advertisements;
- Retrieve content and check for App updates;
- Maintain security, diagnose errors, and improve reliability; and
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. PERMISSIONS
Nekopoi uses internet and network-state access to load online content and advertisements. If you enable episode alerts, the App may request notification permission and use background scheduling, vibration, and restart-related functionality to deliver those alerts. You can disable notifications at any time in Android settings.
4. SHARING OF INFORMATION
We do not directly sell your personal information. Information may be processed or received by advertising partners, content providers, hosting and network providers, video-player services, and authorities when disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect users, rights, or security.

- YouTube/Google: https://policies.google.com/privacy
External video and website providers opened or embedded by the App are governed by their own privacy policies and terms. Nekopoi does not control those third parties.
5. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Locally stored bookmarks, viewing history, progress, notification selections, and preferences remain on your device until you remove them through available App controls, clear the App's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the App. Device backups may retain a copy according to your Android or Google backup settings.
Advertising and external service providers retain information according to their own policies. Because Nekopoi does not provide user accounts, we generally cannot identify or delete information held independently by those providers. You may use Android privacy and advertising settings and the controls described in each provider's privacy policy.

6. CHILDREN AND AGE REQUIREMENT
Nekopoi is intended only for adults aged 18 or older. The App is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can review the matter.
7. SECURITY
We use reasonable technical measures, including encrypted HTTPS connections where supported, to protect information. However, no application, device, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
8. INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING
Third-party providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from your local laws.
9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, its providers, or legal requirements change. The updated version will show a revised effective date.
