During the 2020 pandemic, I decided to attempt to learn and record all 16 numbers from Gershwin's own arrangements of his famous songs. Most of these had been 'too hard' before, so this was a challenging project. None of the performances are as good as I would like, but the point of it was the doing, not the perfection! I am comforted that Gershwin said these pieces are for the 'above average pianist' - well, for me, maybe just... My piano was starting to struggle after a while and was tuned for no. 14!
