Doctoral Scholar of Psychology | Counselling Psychologist
Hello! I am Neha (she/her), a doctoral scholar of Psychology in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, working under the supervision of Prof. Kumar Ravi Priya. In my doctoral project, I am conducting an ethnographic study of the nature of care and recovery across diverse mental health care settings in India. My research interests include mad studies, global mental health, and critical psychiatry.
I am trained as a counselling psychologist and have worked with young adults, queer and non-binary individuals through a trauma-informed, attachment-oriented, and narrative therapy lens.
Alongside academic research, I engage in public-facing writing on mental health and psychology, and currently write as a Science News Writer for Mad in South Asia.
