About the Showcase

Each year, students involved in Civic Engagement and Service-Learning complete a variety of projects that showcase their ability to have a positive impact on their communities. The NECC Service Learning Showcase gives these students the opportunity to show their great accomplishments over the last year to the rest of the NECC Community and to the public. The NECC Service-Learning Showcase recognizes the efforts and achievements of these students in the past year. We hope that you enjoy the 2021 NECC Service Learning Showcase.

Public speaking mentors volunteer their time by helping their peers (in any course) with the performance aspect of a presentation. Additionally, mentors schedule Zoom rehearsals with a peer then evaluate the presentation, providing helpful and encouraging feedback. Finally, mentors then write a reflection paper on each service they have completed and provide important data and personal experience to be used to make future Service-Learning mentoring more sustainable and inclusive.
