College Readiness Workshop Continued...

On Thursday, December 2, the University of Bridgeport will be hosting a College Readiness Workshop. It starts at 6:30 PM and will cover many topics including how to apply for college, what is important when choosing a school, how to navigate the Financial Aid process, how scholarships work and much more. This will be hosted by an Admissions Officer, a Student Ambassador and a representative from the Student Financial Services office. All 3 will be available to guide students and answer questions throughout this interactive session.

This event is a great way for first generation college students and their parents to get the tools they need to start working through the college process. Please note that this session is being offered in two languages, English and Spanish. UB aims to be inclusive and accessible so we hope that Spanish speaking families will benefit from this opportunity.

JRF Scholarship Program - Jan. 12 Deadline

What: The Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF) provides a multifaceted experience designed to not only address the financial needs of students who aspire to attend college but to also guide them through the process of higher education. JRF Scholars receive grants of up to $30,000 over four years to complement the financial aid they receive from their colleges or universities. In addition, Scholars attend JRF's annual four-day Mentoring and Leadership Conference in New York City and other regional events throughout the year. The application is currently open, and it closes on January 12, 2022, at 5 p.m. ET.

Greater Bridgeport St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee’s 2022 Mr. & Ms. Shamrock Scholarship Contest - Dec. 15 deadline

What: All high school seniors of Irish descent may apply. There will be two winners (one male, one female) and two runners-up (one male, one female).

Winners will awarded $5,000.00 each and runners-up will receive $2,500.00 each!
