Third International Symposium on Materials R&D Data

This symposium aims to facilitate global collaboration in large-scale materials research data by employing harmonized terminologies and schema aligned with the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles for materials R&D data. Building on the successes of previous symposia held in 2022 at KINTEX, Korea, and in 2023 in Wiesbaden, Germany, the third symposium will take place in Jeju Island, Korea, with a focus on establishing consortia for FAIR R&D data in materials science.

We will examine current barriers to data sharing, considering not only terminologies but also optimized data structures for efficient data-driven materials design and analytics. Furthermore, practical aspects of data sharing across various sub-disciplines of materials science will be extensively discussed, aiming to advance global data sharing effort.
