Diwali, the ‘festival of lights’ was celebrated with great zest in the premises of Nazareth Convent High School on 6 October, 2023.
Class assemblies are a part of the NCHS curriculum. The day was marked by a special assembly in the school by our students highlighting the message of ‘Green Diwali, Clean Diwali’. It started with a prayer followed by sharing the importance of celebrating Diwali festival through videos. The assembly concluded with the principal emphasizing on the message of a green, clean, peaceful and cracker free Diwali.
In order to spread the message of celebrating an eco-friendly and cracker free Diwali, a Diya Decoration competition for Std 5, Eco-friendly Lantern Making competition for std 6-7 and Rangoli competition for Std 8-10 was organized.The main purpose of these activities was to explore the students imagination, creativity and celebrate the Festival of Lights in its true spirit. All students participated enthusiastically in the activities. Many students came forward with many good and innovative concepts for Diwali art gallery and school bulletin boards.
An exhibition of colourful and beautiful diyas, lanterns was put up at the school auditorium. In this way students imbibed the message that it is the time to think out of boundaries and a fun filled Diwali can also be celebrated without crackers.
