Thank you all for making the 2017 NCH GI Symposium and Fellowship Reunion and incredible weekend! The Symposium and Reunion commemorated the 10th anniversary of the GI fellowship at Nationwide Children's Hospital. The GI division and fellowship program have grown tremendously over the past decade, and it was a great weekend of reconnecting with old colleagues and meeting new ones!
Congratulations to Dr. Steve Erdman for winning the Fellowship Advocate Award and Dr. Jane Balint for winning both the Fellowship Advocate and Teaching Awards!
Powerpoint slides from the GI Symposium have been uploaded here.
Pictures from the weekend have been posted.

The Bowels, Illness & GI Healers
A poem written by Desale Yacob -- an artist, wordsmith, and gentleman.
Like the mystery and intrigue embedded in a quilt
So is the bowel matrix…
In health, organized and well-choreographed
Like a perfect early morning wave in a placid lake
But in illness…chaos and uninvited interruptions run amok
Disrupting the pleasure of feeding and wellness
What is a healer to do when called upon to calm the waters?
Guided by the secrets of Medicine performs the ritual
Confirming that something has gone off tracks
Counsels and prescribes so that the broken can be mended
And in time be fully healed…
