Dr. Narayan Chandra Das
Narayan Ch. Das received his B.Tech. degree in Polymer Science and Technology from Calcutta University in 1996. Subsequently, he completed his M. Tech. degree (1998) in Rubber Technology and Ph.D (2002) in polymer field from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India. He worked as lecturer in Thapar University, India. He carried out his post-doctoral research at Hiroshima University, Japan and Michigan Technological University, USA. He worked as a Research Associate, SUNY Binghamton, USA. He also worked as a Research Professor at Indiana University, Bloomington, USA. Currently, he is working as an Associate Professor in Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
Current Research Interest Areas:
Nanocomposites for food packaging, radiation absorbing, sensors, membrane, medical and energy storage applications.
Development of new generation tire compounds.
Synthesis of self-assembly block copolymers, conductive polymers, polymer electrolytes, etc.
Smart textile materials for microwave/X-ray absorbing applications.
Recycle waste rubber: extraction of oil and carbon black.
TPE/TPV based EMI shielding materials for automotive and aerospace applications.
Synthesis and characterization of carbon quantum dot for sensors and bioimaging applications.
