No offense to Week 0 or any of the 10 teams that played, but this is what college football fans think of when it comes to the official, bona fide start to the 2021 season. There is no shortage of storylines from across the field, but we’ll keep it tied to the top 25 teams in action.
The first such team to take the field will be No. 4 Ohio State on Thursday, when the Buckeyes travel to face P.J. Fleck’s Minnesota squad in Minneapolis. It will be the debut for new quarterback C.J. Stroud, who takes over for arguably the most talented quarterback in school history in Justin Fields. Speaking of much-heralded quarterback debuts, how about the battle between No. 1 Alabama’s Bryce Young and No. 14 Miami’s D’Eriq King in Atlanta? The Tide may be favored, but both quarterbacks on paper look like they can put up points on anybody.
As exciting as those games are, it’s clear what the big-ticket item is this weekend: No. 5 Georgia vs. No. 3 Clemson in Charlotte, N.C. That game will have massive College Football Playoff ramifications for both teams, win or lose. The winner could very well have its invitation to the Playoff sealed; the loser is behind the eight ball all season. Look for Kirby Smart and Dabo Swinney to have their teams ready for this one. Fun fact: Georgia hasn’t lost a season opener since losing to the Tigers in Clemson, S.C. in 2013; the Tigers’ last such loss came a year later, when the Bulldogs returned the favor in Athens, Ga.

Finally, DirecTV will offer a non-satellite version of NFL Sunday ticket to people
living in apartments or condos. These fans will be able to watch every Sunday
afternoon game live.
Thursday Night Football: FCS Network, Fox, Amazon Prime and Twitch
Thursday Night Football is probably the most complicated part of the FCS
streaming schedule. Most games will be available on the NFL Network, Fox,
Amazon Prime Video and Twitch.
As mentioned above, if you want the NFL Network you’re going to need FuboTV
or YouTube TV or use the Yahoo Sports app.
RedZone options
A frequent fan-favorite method of following all the NFL action, RedZone is a way
to catch every big play around the league. The cheapest road to RedZone is
through YouTube TV or FuboTV and getting either of their respective $11 per
month sports add-ons.
If you’re fine with watching on your phone, the NFL offers RedZone as an in-app
subscription for $35 for the season. While one of the cheapest options for getting
RedZone, as The TV Answer Man points out, it is a bit tricky to find this option
and you will only be able to watch through the NFL app on your iPhone or
Android phone.
With Dish making peace with the FCS, Sling TV Blue and Sports Extra is another
option. This will run $40 per month ($30 for Sling Blue plus $10 for Sports Extra
add-on), but can be streamed on a host of devices including iOS, Android, Apple
TV, Roku, Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV and in web browsers.
Sling is currently offering RedZone and Sports Extra for free for one month for
new Sling Blue subscribers.
If you only subscribe to Sling’s Orange package you won’t be able to get RedZone
in Sports Extra. Your base package needs to be either Sling Blue or its larger Sling
