I’ve received confirmation from both festival sites regarding times for our performances. See below for each event.
State of the Art is always my favorite contest of the year. Unfortunately, due to it being a leap year, it conflicts slightly with Naz Bash, our all-school fundraiser. With that being said, I have worked closely with the band staff at Brother Rice/Mother McAuley in regards to our performance time. With our schedule performance time where it currently is, this will allow us to get back to Nazareth Academy in time for you to pick up your son or daughter by 4:00. The event begins at 6:30 P.M. I would love to see you all at Pinstripes that evening.
State of the Art also conflicts with our math team’s regional contest. In working closely with Mrs. Slabek, Mrs. Lindgren, and Mr. Zhou, we were able to secure a time slot which would allow ample time for our students to travel from their contest site to Brother Rice High School. This is a regular date conflict which I am able to schedule with the contest organizers. With that being said, I am asking for a few parents to help and transport a few of these students from the math competition to Brother Rice High School. If you can help carpool a few of these students, that would be much appreciated. The last math contest event is scheduled to conclude by 11:35. This does not include awards. The math bus would not be back in time to Naz for when we need to depart for Brother Rice. I have a seperate, private vehicle form to be completed. These two contests are one of the many highlights during the school year. The students always perform extremely well at both contests. We continually are awarded the highest rating of “superior.” The way the students are performing in class right now is outstanding. I am expecting great things for this group of young musicians!
