Originally from South Korea, I began my training in agricultural and resource economics at the University of Tennessee before moving to Texas A&M University, where I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Agricultural Economics.
I am an applied microeconomist focused on environmental and natural resource economics. My research examines how water scarcity, climate variability, and public infrastructure shape agricultural and regional economic outcomes, with particular interest in the long-run effects of water institutions and investments—such as dams, canals, and water rights—and how these interact with environmental constraints. Methodologically, my work combines historical policy analysis with modern causal inference techniques using large-scale spatial and panel data.
Across my broader research agenda, I seek to contribute to contemporary policy debates on infrastructure investment, drought resilience, and water governance in the United States and other water-scarce regions.
