Navigator is an independently developed Chrome extension that enhances the ChatGPT web experience. It is not affiliated with OpenAI or Google.
Navigator reads message text and relevant page structure from the current ChatGPT conversation to provide search, navigation, highlighting, and reading features.
When the user explicitly requests full indexing, Navigator may access additional messages from the same conversation through ChatGPT's first-party endpoints. This process takes place within the user's authenticated browser session.
Temporary request headers used for indexing may contain authentication-related information. Navigator does not separately store these credentials or transmit them to the developer.
Navigator allows users to save, organize, search, copy, and insert reusable prompts.
Users may also select text on a webpage and explicitly save it through the right-click context menu.
Saved prompts, titles, categories, and preferences are stored locally using Chrome extension storage. They are not automatically uploaded or synchronized to developer-operated servers.
Navigator stores interface preferences such as language, panel size, feature settings, and composer height locally.
Conversation search indexes are maintained temporarily in browser memory and are not permanently saved as part of the Prompt Library.
Users can edit or delete saved prompts and export or import JSON backups. Uninstalling the extension removes its associated local extension storage.
Navigator does not operate a developer-controlled server for collecting conversations or prompts.
It does not sell personal information, include advertising trackers, or use third-party analytics SDKs.
Optional full indexing communicates with ChatGPT's own services. Such requests remain subject to OpenAI's applicable terms and privacy policy.
Navigator uses data only to provide its disclosed features and related functionality.
Navigator uses Chrome permissions for local storage, right-click saving, temporary active-tab access, and user-initiated prompt insertion.
Its ChatGPT content scripts support conversation search, navigation, reading, composer enhancements, and shortcuts.
User-initiated prompt insertion may access a compatible input field on the active webpage. Navigator does not continuously read all websites in the background.
Navigator may display optional donation links or payment QR codes.
Donations are handled by external payment providers. Navigator does not process payments or collect payment transaction histories.
Users can manage saved prompts, change interface settings, disable optional features, or uninstall Navigator.
Full indexing requires user initiation and confirmation.
For questions about privacy, security, or data handling, please use the developer contact information provided on Navigator's Chrome Web Store listing.
This policy may be updated when the extension's functionality or data practices change.
