About me

I am a faculty member at the Faculty of Science, Mathematics and Computer Science, Informatics Institute the University of Amsterdam and Department of Biomedical Engineering and Physics, Amsterdam UMC, Amsterdam.

Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Amsterdam, I worked with Prof. Josien Pluim and Prof. Richard Lopata as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Eindhoven University of Technology, where I applied my expertise in deep learning to precision imaging for medical applications. Specifically, I focused on developing advanced deep learning-based techniques for image processing and reconstruction, with a particular emphasis on ultrasound imaging and photoacoustic imaging.

My work has also explored the broader field of inverse problems and computational methods for medical imaging, which has important implications for the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of medical conditions. By applying cutting-edge deep learning-based techniques to these complex challenges, I have made contributions to the field of medical imaging and signal processing.

After completing my Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the prestigious National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, India., I went on to pursue my Master's degree in Computational Science from Department of Computational and Data Sciences at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. During my Master's studies, I focused on developing sparse recovery-based techniques and compressed sensing methods for improving photoacoustic tomography.

From there, I went on to complete my Ph.D. in Medical Imaging at the same institution, where I made contributions to the field of photoacoustic image reconstruction. Under the guidance of  Prof. Phaneendra K. Yalavarthy at the Department of Computational and Data Sciences, I developed novel techniques for improving and accelerating photoacoustic image reconstruction, which has important implications for medical diagnosis and treatment.

After completing my Ph.D., I further honed my expertise in medical imaging and signal processing during my time as a Research Fellow at the Cardiovascular Research Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, USA. In this role, I focused on the application of deep learning-based techniques to cardiovascular signal processing, further expanding my expertise in this important area of research.

Overall, my diverse academic background and extensive experience in medical imaging and signal processing make me uniquely qualified to drive innovation and advance the state of the art in this critical area of medical research. As a passionate researcher in the field of medical imaging and signal processing, my primary focus lies in developing advanced techniques for processing, analyzing, and reconstructing medical images and signals.
