The Lonely Widow

When the day begins,
Chirping birds hurt my ears.
Crowing roosters fill me with fear.
But most of all,
Laughing children bring me to tears.
I close my window,
drown my sorrows
in the hopes of a better tomorrow.
But now,
I’m nothing more than The Lonely Widow.
When the day continues,
Sunlight seeps through
calling for me.
Wind sneaks in, something I could foresee.
The sea is out there
waiting for me.
But I can’t guarantee
until my heart is free.
Until then,
I’m still The Lonely Widow.
When the day ends,
The air grows cold
And I grow old.
Everything repeats
But I’ll never be complete.
But when the day continues,
A knock on my door
Something I couldn’t ignore.
I open
I blink
I realize
Everyone was there,
The Birds,
The Roosters,
The Children,
The Family,
The Sunlight,
The Sea,
And the Ocean.
They are waiting for me.
To open my door
To stop and don’t ignore
Not like before.
When the day starts,
Everything is music to my ears.
When the day continues,
Everything will not call for me,
They will be with me.
When the day ends,
It continues.
I am a Widow.
But no more am I, The Lonely Widow.
