MOTTO: ‘CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION OF ECOSYSTEM FOR SUSTAINABLE TOMORROW’
Preface:
Nature club has been established by the Department of Zoology, Krishnagar Government College with a vision to create general awareness among the students regarding the different environmental problems which are of major concern for the better future and survival of mankind. Our prime concern is to inculcate love and respect for nature and to take initiatives of our own well-being in good harmony with Nature. We have always motivated our students to know, and value the environment through conducting study tours, field surveys, local site studies regularly. We understand the need to develop awareness among students in order to promote protection, restoration, and conservation of ecosystems, natural resources, and environmental services and facilitate their use for sustainable development. To make students aware of the purpose of environmental protection, we need to organize workshops, seminars, competitions and other environmental activities. In near future keeping all these in mind, we need to execute the following plans and activities.
• E-magazine covering all nature-related matters will be published very shortly.
• Seminar on various aspects of nature will be conducted regularly
• Making a butterfly garden in our college campus
• In-situ aquaponics to be set up
• Culture of Ornamental fish, larvicidal fish (Tilapia, Gappi, Khalisha etc.)
• Restoration of the natural habitat of Parrot in our college campus
• Formation of nesting and breeding ground for habitat restoration of various indigenous birds in our common locality
